1. Boldt Castle
A castle with a story as epic as its imposing gothic touches. George C. Boldt tapped top architects and hundreds of laborers to build a dream home for his beloved wife. When she died shortly before the castle was completed, the devastated George left, never to return.
See it in its full glory. Restored — but not re-finished so you’re easily transported back to 1900 — you can “ohh and aww” your way through 129 rooms and ramble over the five-acre grounds.
Accessible exclusively by boat, bring your navigational aids and your imagination.

2. Eisenhower Lock (Near Massena, NY)
Canal locks are a not-so-modern marvel. The Eisenhower Lock’s design ensures that it doesn’t interfere with waterflow to nearby hydroelectric installations; its (incredibly!) narrow dimensions and surrounding scenery ensure a feast for the eyes.
Watch massive cargo ships lumber their way along the US-Canadian waterway as the lock raises and lowers them to safe levels. A true feat of engineering!

When: Visitors’ Center open from late May through Labor Day. Year-round viewing is possible from north overloop parking lot.

3. Thousand Islands Playhouse

4. Saint Lawrence Spirits

This is the first distillery to use purified water from our favourite river in all their small batch spirits. Grains and ingredients from local growers amplify the outstanding quality. Enjoy vodka, gin, whiskey, bourbon, and other handcrafted delights while taking in the gorgeous riverside views.

5. Potter’s Beach (Near Clayton, NY)
Hot and sweaty? Drop anchor along this gorgeous beach. Potters’ Beach is a popular destination for those looking to wile away the day — before heading to Saint Lawrence Spirits?
You’ll need your boat, and a reliable navigation system, to access this spot. And plenty of sunscreen to enjoy it.
